where the hell is the trailer?

Where is the *beep* trailer? I mean, this movie come out in 3 weeks... Dimension Films sucks...

reply

Agreed. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't they want to promote the god damn movie?????

what movies are currently showing at the cinemas and ones coming out before it and what are the ratings. stop and think for a minute here what if they can't show a trailer at cinemas because they don't want the trailer showing during films that kids may be seeing with there parents. kids who have never seen footage of great white sharks may very well get really freaked out by it if the film has footage of great whites opening there mouths. may have to be youtube only.

bird signs you want to plan a strategy based on bird signs.

I'm talking about youtube of course, obviously this is a DTV release, they don't need to promote before the movies in theaters...

reply

Yep this wouldn't be promoted in theaters since it isn't a theatrical release. And if it were a wide theatrical release they'd have no problem promoting it in front of movies out now. You could put the trailer in front of most movies in the top 10 (Tarzan, Purge, Mike & Dave, Central Intelligence, Independence Day, Shallows, this coming weekend's Ghostbusters and Infiltrator, etc...).

There should have been a trailer online by now. This is nuts.

Maybe this going to be pushed, something usual on Dimension...

reply

Strange it isn't getting a theatrical release, what with shark thrillers being in vogue again thanks to The Shallows (budget: $17 million; gross: $65 million and counting) and the forthcoming Meg. And the first review makes it sound quite ptomising.

Since the latest flops from Dimension (Piranha, Scream 4, Scary Movie 5 and Sin City 2) they can't afford a wide release, the best examples are "Clown" just open in 100 screens 3 years after the shooting and "Viral" will open on July 29 in select theaters/VOD and three days later on dvd. Amityville The Awakening was pushed back 3 times. And they lost recently the Halloween rights.
