I hope it sinks

Any movie that demonizes a creature heading towards extinction that kills less people than ants do on the planet each year does not deserve this crap..
Sharks kill around 12-16 people on Earth each year
Humans kill around 70-100 million sharks each year.
They don't breed like fish.

um, this movie doesn't demonize sharks. in fact the sharks only play a minor-ish part in the film and even then IMO they are shown to be simply doing what animals/fish do naturally. much of the tension comes from the fact the 2 women's air tanks are running out of air, etc.

even though i liked THE SHALLOWS more than this movie that movie sort of demonizes sharks way more than anything in IN THE DEEP. the shark in SHALLOWS was depicted more like a crazed serial killer doing things that no shark would do (yet the movie was a lot of fun).

Sharks aren't being killed because they're feared - most are being killed for food. Shark fin is a delicacy in Asia. Changing the portrayal of sharks in media isn't going to change that.

And the Great White Shark is no longer endangered.
