So when exactly is this coming out now?

I've seen conflicting reports all over the net.

Some say limited release this Oct.

Others say undetermined theatrical release next summer.

It blows it was suppose to come out on DVD this week and now we have to wait months, possibly a year to get to see it. I would have totally blind bought this, which I don't do often.

I had the opportunity the other night to watch it (someone posted the whole film on YouTube which has naturally since been taken down) but I decided against it because I didn't want the atmosphere to be ruined by watching it on my sh!tty laptop with pop up ads and a grainy picture. It would've ruined the experience and intensity.

So does anyone have an actual answer or is it still just not known at all? I don't want this to turn into another Mandy Lane and get shelved for 7 years!

It's available for purchase on Amazon Instant Video for $12.99. You can just click on the link on this movie's main IMDB page to take you to the Amazon site.

It was originally going to be released on DVD October 2nd. But the film was sold to another distributor which plans to release the movie early 2017 in theaters.

I read that, too, but now that it's available for streaming on Amazon Instant Video, I wonder if that scraps the plans for a theatrical release.

Not sure how long this will be up for but some guy has put it on Youtube (link below) so rather than wait till next year go get it watched before someone complains and has it removed :-)

Well thanks for the link.

I decided to watch it and I'm glad I did.

It scared the living hell out of me! I actually yelped in terror like 4 or 5 times. Ha.

Sharks really stress me out. I've been watching horror movies my whole life and have pretty much reached a point where I am generally not scared easily by most of them. Slashers, hauntings, etc. Fun to watch, but I'm rarely actually frightened.

But I have a huge shark fear so any movie involving them automatically terrifies me. This one was extremely well done. Very suspsenful and tense. I was pretty much frozen in fear the second they dropped to the floor. I was holding my breath and clutching my chair extremely hard. Turning away in terror every time the shark swam by. This situation would be my worst nightmare.

And I've always adored Mandy Moore so I was glad to see her in something current. Never thought she'd do something like this but I enjoyed her. Claire Holt was really good too!

I liked this just as much as The Shallows, which was also great! It's been nice to have some good shark movies out recently.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, I must admit, I thought it was going to be rubbish but I'm really glad I watched it, I've not seen the shallows yet but this was easily the best shark movie since Jaws.

I'm the same, Not many movies actually scare me but I do have a massive fear of sharks, so when a movie is done right, it can be a tense and scary experience.

Thing is, there's not many shark movies that do it right these days. Since Jaws, I think I've maybe enjoyed 4 shark movies and 2 of them were quite silly but still enjoyable. Deep Blue Sea and Bait were fun popcorn flicks and In the deep and The Reef were just tense ans scary (if you're scared of sharks that is) :-)

From what I read, it was supposed to come out August 2nd but they yanked it at the last second because 'the shallows' did well, so now this got bought by a new distributor and will most likely be getting a theatrical release. I read not until next year though, but I imagine it will be sooner than that.

Some stores actually put their copies of the DVD out before it was recalled, so they're going for big money on eBay/Amazon/etc since some copies got out.

Gotta strike while the iron is hot. I think with solid marketing, good trailers, and a good release date, this could do pretty well, assuming its budget was lower than The Shallows (which I assume so; CGI sharks get less screen time here and I doubt Mandy Moore commands nearly as high a paycheck as Blake Lively does nowadays).

(SPOILERS) I would bet good money that the shot of Moore lighting the flare and finding her and her sister totally surrounded by great whites ends up in whatever trailer is cut for the film. It was a heck of a shot, even if the CGI in that scene wasn't the greatest, and it was a rip-off of a very similar scene in Pitch Black.

This film was actually available on Amazon Instant Video for a while. That was actually how I saw it.

I think it's still available on Amazon Instant Video. I want to see it, but not for $12.99 ... that's a bit much to rent a movie. Think I'll wait for it to be released in theaters and see it on $5 movie Tuesdays.
