So after watching the first episode of the new season, we see that Ezra is promoted to Lieutenant Commander. However, almost immediately and throughout the entire episode, he is referred to as Lieutenant (instead of either Lieutenant Commander OR just Commander).
Was this a gaff on the writers part?
Could be wrong about this, but Lieutenant Commander would mean he is a commander among lieutenants, so he's still a lieutenant.
shareThat's not how ranks work. Lieutenant Commander would be a junior commander, just like Lieutenant Colonel or General.
A Sergeant Major isn't a sergeant of Majors, or a Major of Sergeants.
Lack of attention to detail by the writers. It is a common thing. Get used to it.
