have you experience this in cinema

I saw the movie on its first screening that day. And there's only three people in the cinema me and a couple.

I just wonder is it normal in cinema to have only 3 to 5 people watching the movie or will they cancel the movie soon.

Sorry if my english sucks

Where you saw it?

I live in the philippines. So yeah i saw it in a movie theater in the philippines.

But i check the screening today and the movie was still playing full day. Compare to bradley cooper's burnt which is only shown half day. I guess people are too busy watching spectre.

Do you liked it?

reply

I like it i did not expect it to be dark.
In the trailer it looks like a chick fkick movie but it turns out to be a dark comedy.

In recent years, I have had quite a few similar experiences. The most bizarre was when I went to see "Water for Elephants" and I was the only person in the cinema.

I don;t think they ever cancel, as the session is on a time loop and the officials don't even realise how few attendees there are.

It's been doing really well in Australia. It is the No. 1 Box Office hit here for the 2nd week in a row, as mentioned today in the Northern Territory News: http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/national/dressmaker-stands-tall-at-aust-box-office/story-fnjbnvyj-1227602086185

I guess it hasn't been properly promoted in the Phillipines, but word of mouth is usually the way it goes and eventually it becomes more popular. Also, depends what session you see it in. If you go during the day when everyone is at work, ... well, there you go. Wait and see how many turn up for the evening session.

Pretty busy in the uk

It was quite busy when I saw it. But I have been to empty screenings of other films over the years -- most recently, Pan. Which I saw on a big screen with not another person in the cinema. When Titanic was reissued I saw it on a massive screen in a cinema that holds around 350 people, but there was only me and one other person.

I once saw Identity in the cinema back in 2003 with my cousin. It was only us two and some guy in the corner. Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant experience seeing as to how the film was a bit much for a 13 and 11-year-old. The empty cinema didn't help either.
