I absolutely loved this movie, so don't count me in with the haters, but I thought this naming device plot twist was easily the lamest and most contrived and obvious part of the whole thing. I realized that Damon was Nomad backwards almost immediately after he gave his name. In fact, I was in shock that the main character, who brilliantly deduced all sorts of combinations and patterns in the spur of just moments throughout the movie, took THAT long to put that together at the very end.
Again, I really liked this movie way more than most users on imdb, but this was probably the one part of the movie that I thought was most hard to swallow.
I actually didn't and felt kind of stupid when it was revealed lol.
I do wonder if Nomad was a hat tip to Star Trek: TOS.

To be fair, I had looked at the cast list on here before watching the movie and there's a good chance that seeing the visual "Damon" written out in text form helped the connection. I guess I'll never know.
