1st half vs 2nd half

I gotta admit, I was really enjoying this film up until the point that we get the cyberlegs moment. The hacker messing with them and then the creepy house was all really well done and the early scenes in the bunker are great too. Theyre suspenseful and keep you wondering whats going to happen next. The second half of the movie just fell apart though... it became silly and confusing and hard to follow and i no longer found myself caring what was going to happen next. Anyone else get tricked by the first half like me?

After the movie ended I went back and turned on the filmmakers' commentary for a few scenes, to see if they explained it any. The concept is simple - what if you were captured by aliens but didn't know you were captured by aliens because the place you are in and the people around you seem to be a place on Earth. Knowing that makes it a bit easier to understand why each thing happened.

I was mainly struck by how stupidly the two guys behaved initially, going into that place at night in the middle of nowhere. I believe most intelligent people would either have said "It isn't worth it" and moved on, or decided to come back in the daylight if they had enough time.
