Yes. I also thought of DC. Slightly different storyline but ships looked the same in the reveals.

I am a fan of both movies. They have a lot of similarities but take different approaches. The aliens seemed to have different motivations. The endings were different. in Dark City the Aliens are all killed but in The Signal they are docking on the Alien's home world, we also only ever see androids, not aliens
