Finding humor in pain and discomfort is part of a stand-up comedians life. Any kind of comedy has truth in it... it can often leave one feeling uncomfortable.

The humor comes from the rawness of the characters and how open they are... maybe more so with each other than with their own imperfections.

There was no humor in her standup. Only public whining about her pathetic life. The only reason the fake audience of extras laughed was because the script told them to.
