Minor spoilers if you haven't seen the film, but the director talks about how they shot the final standup routine at 7 am, as well as building Donna's support system and how her character became a comedian in the script

Thanks for posting that. I just watched the movie today and was pleasantly surprised, not only by the way the narrative, performances, and whole project came together so well but because of the themes. The article you linked to covers a bit more of that. Thanks very much.
