oh my god, can't believe Tarek did that, and he has 2 little kids who depend on him....he is lucky he is still alive!!!!!what the heck was was he thinking...I know we are having a drought, but that was not safe!!!!
It's just like the latest ep with the flip in Torrance. The house was so small, like 800 some odd sq. feet with only 1 bathroom, plus the fact that they had to tear down the addition/laundry room, I kept wondering why they didn't bite the bullet and add on a master suite! There was plenty of room for it in the back. Then at the end Tarek reveals they had screwed themselves out of about 100k by not adding on to the house! Any non-professional, even me, could have foreseen this problem, and he is supposed to know what he's doing. Not to mention the fact that even to an untrained eye the foundation issues were going to cost them a bundle which should have made him pass on it like Christina wanted to, but nooooo. Tarek is cheap and doesn't know how to google, or simply ask someone who knows, 'worst case scenario, how much could a cracked foundation cost me?"
I just saw the ep ur talking about last night. ..he loses his mind about $48k to fix the floors....but he (would've ) has an extra $50k for an addition ? That doesn't add up imo
But it would have netted them an extra 100k so it would have been worth it. And Tarek figured this out before the house went on the market so theoretically he could have figured it out earlier while there was still time to do it. Once the foundation cost him nearly 50k he should have been scrambling and wracking his brain for a way to increase the profit on the flip. In such a small dwelling, how hard is it to figure out increased size [a master suite addition would have been ideal] = increased profit?
you don't actually see Tarek get zapped. Not saying they are making up stuff, but illustrating a serious hazard that could kill somebody isn't actually a bad thing.
I have a voltage detector pen and have stuck it in several hot tubs over the years, on one occasion, it registered lethal voltage in the water. Sure glad I didn't stick my hand in that one.
Another house, the door knob on the backside entrance to the garage was hot, hot hot. Didn't use the pen that occasion, and despite getting shocked that way, I still don't. That case it turned out a lag bolt on one of the hinges was screwed into some romex in the door frame structure.
