Their Friend's Home

I was watching an episode at 9 last night in which they were fixing up a friend's family's home to sell, and I fell asleep, so I missed the ending. I do remember that they wanted to tear up all the floors, totally gut the kitchen and at least one bathroom, just basically take it apart from the walls down, so they could "get top dollar." Can someone tell me how it turned out, please? I thought it was a nice looking house, but they only wanted "high end buyers." No wonder real estate is so overpriced in CA. A family on a moderate budget could have bought it as-is and loved it.
