What the hell is up with that dudes name? His wife is smoking hot but I seriously don't understand that guys origins.

you didn't even spell his name right it is tarek...his mom is french and I found 2 references, one says he was born in egypt and another one that says he is moroccan

It's a Vulcan name. His parents were Trekkies.

He was born in Alexandria Egypt. It might be a common name there.
