some of the people who turn up at the open houses seem like realtors rather than potential buyers, especially the ones who dress more formally and smartly.
And there are some people who just like to "window shop" houses, they go to these open houses to look around but don't really have any intentions of buying...I know someone who is like that, he just goes to these open houses near his neighbourhood just to check out these houses, but he doesn't want to buy them. Maybe these people go to these open houses just so they could get some ideas on interior designing for their own homes? Open houses are perfect for that, the houses are on the market so you can go in freely and look around and get some ideas.
EDIT:
Also, don't forget that these people can always take out a mortgage to buy these homes, so it's not "impossible" that they are potential buyers either.
