CA Real Estate Prices

I realize that they are not the only realtors/flippers in CA, but I think they are doing their part to add to the cost of real estate in CA. They take houses and add so much so they will appeal to "high end buyers." Do they not care that there are people on moderate budgets who don't care if they have subway tile or top of the line appliances or double sinks? It's especially sad when you watch House Hunters or Fixer Upper or Property Virgins, etc., and see what housing prices are in other parts of the country.

They raise property values by taking dumps and turning them into modern homes. It helps the resale value of neighboring homes and brings more money into the area for schools and infrastructure. They do a service to the area, especially those that are living next to a foreclosed home.

Well said...flipping is such a positive to the neighborhood. My city is currently passing laws that will force property owners to not be able to just sit on "zombie houses." One guy owns 10 and he refuses to do anything with them. So drug addicts and squatters come in and cause major, major headaches.

The houses in California are going to be expensive anyway. $900k for a 3 bedroom 2 bath in the Bay Area. Crappy neighborhood too. So granite tile, accented backsplash, etc. won't matter. It's expensive, period.

They at least make the houses nice and livable.

They turn dumps into high-end model homes for rich people who want to move to ghetto neighborhoods.

It's the buyers who determine the price of a home, not the sellers.
