Damn, I thought they were happy

Just goes to show you can't believe what's on TV.

This makes me a little sad.

Alright gents, time to line up for Christina.

Not if I do first.

reply

I am surprised by the split, they were kind of a perfect couple.... maybe they thought a second kid would save their marriage... I am sure these underlying issues didn't appear in a six month period like some new articles are saying...

reply

They tried so hard had to do ivf had a miscarrage, one last try and they got their son....and He had cancer...they nade it through that you would think they would be stronger for it......but you never know

why do they have all those guns and a rifle with small children in the house??

reply

You can have guns in the house with children, just be responsible. All of ours are locked up in a gun safe and the key is hidden where no child can find it. Oh, and of course, if you actually WATCH your children so many things that have been happening lately would not happen, like your child eating Tide Pods.

As far as Tarek and Christina, I was also pretty shocked to see they had split up. They do seem perfect on their show, it would be hard to work with your spouse and live with your spouse and always get along. I have to wonder if it has anything to do with the trouble that has been happening with their seminars? I have read people are filing complaints because they paid all kinds of money (upwards of $50,000) and not getting what was promised. No doubt that would add stress to their situation.

reply

Trump University II?

reply

I get what you are saying mamie lou....I understand having a gun each for protection, hopefully theyare responsible with them....but why do 2 people need 5 guns and a rifle? just seems like over kill

reply

How many tv's do you have in your house? How many do you need?
Do you need a cell phone, tablet, AND computer?
Do you need two bathrooms in your house?
Having more than one, maybe two of any of these items seems like overkill!
My point being, it's not about "needs". Maybe he has a handgun, a shotgun, a rifle, an antique gun, and his wife has a handgun.
Maybe some are for defense, some are for sporting or target practice. Maybe a couple different types for hunting.
And with certain political figures always talking about banning certain types, or amounts, of guns, it's probably prudent to buy all you can while they're still available.
So it has nothing to do with how many guns one "needs". Just like almost every other product.

The bottom line is that people can and should be allowed to own guns if they have children, but they should be responsible. Sadly we are hearing about people who leave guns out in plain sight, loaded no less, and the kid picks it up and starts playing around and boom, brother or sister is shot. Then the parents cry like they can't believe it happened. People are stupid or on drugs or both. I don't know the answer to that one. Some people as was mentioned above have different guns for different things: a handgun for home protection, a shotgun for bird hunting, a rifle for deer hunting, and maybe you inherited a gun from Grandpa and it has sentimental value so you want to keep it. Some people are nuts like my brother in law, who thinks he has to have every gun ever manufactured, but hey he's not a criminal and it's not up to me to tell him how to spend his money. If you have kids, KEEP YOUR GUNS AWAY! It's not that hard to do. We did it, and we continue to do it. Teach your children well. Pay attention to your children. Be a parent. Don't be an idiot, in which case you should not own guns or be a parent.

reply

[deleted]

Oh, I'm not disagreeing that it does happen. I would love to argue that point but unfortunately it is a sad fact that there are a lot of people who accidentally shoot themselves or someone they thought was an intruder. Or they are hunting and thought they were shooting an animal but it was a person. Hunter and gun safety should be as mandatory as a background check but there are ways around both I'm sure. I'm just speaking about my own experience with guns that we have along with having a child. Maybe we got lucky that our child never figured out how to get into the gun safe. There never is a 100% foolproof method to anything. I would love to assume all of their guns were safely tucked away and that someone is watching their children and teaching them right from wrong. That's all we tried to do.

Then Tarek and Christina have something in common with the Duggars that own guns

Did you even bother to click on the link I post it come from the official Duggar family blog own by the Duggars and yes they own guns, not the end of the world and what's wrong with Duggars owning guns?

From Duggar family official blog

After a six hour bus trip beginning at 5:00 AM, Jim Bob and the older kids are ready to hunt turkey. Everyone suits up and takes turns shooting paper turkeys.
The next morning, the Duggars split up into groups, are assigned a guide, and head out.
"Turkey hunting can teach you a lot of patience," says Jim Bob, who is paired with Jinger. "You sit there for hours, and nothing happens."
After a day of hunting, the Duggars head home with two turkeys, shot by the older boys.
Even though she isn't successful, Jinger enjoy hanging out with her dad. "I think that it was great father-daughter time," says the 18-year-old.

Apparently they had more than one vehicle. One vehicle should be enough. There are many car accidents every year. I have heard people getting killed in cars. Even children. You should not have more than one car with children around.

See how stupid you sound?

No, you are the moron for telling people how many guns they "need" or should have. Just because you don't like guns and/or are against them, doesn't mean everyone else should live according to your beliefs.
I don't like swimming pools. I can't swim and I think they are a waste of money. Also, kids and animals can drown in them. But I'm not going to go on a public Internet forum and tell people they shouldn't have them, or that they "only need" 3 foot pools, nothing deeper.
Chainsaws are noisy and dangerous. There have been lots of accidents involving chainsaws. Nobody needs more than one.
Same with kids and skateboards. They cause lots of bruises, scrapes, and broken bones. Nobody needs more than one skateboard.
Obviously, Tarik and Christine have had these guns, and nothing untoward has happened. So evidently they are responsible gun owners. Just like millions of others. Neither they, nor any of us, need you telling us how many we need, or should have.

Okay,cardinal42 take it easy and there no reason for you come unglue and attack poster for no reason and Sorry like or not there are parents who own guns and are responsible to the point they have their guns locked in a gun cabinet in another a room lock from children the locks high above children reach.

uhhh...ME! I am a parent, two children who have made it to adulthood! We have a gun safe that we lovingly refer to as the "big blue refrigerator",. Since it is you who I am responding to and I know your propensity for misunderstanding, we call it that because it is BIG (the size of a refrigerator)and is gasp BLUE! It currently houses 15+ guns. Never have we had any incidents, my husband was in the military for 26 years when he passed away and our older son is also a combat vet.
Nancy, you need to take your BS "I hear" nonsense and shove it right up your fat, beastly ass. Contrary to what you believe, the world does not revolve around you (ask Copernicus) and people are very capable of raising their own children without the likes of YOU, who is NOT a parent and never will be telling them what you KNOW to be as FACT.
Nobody has disputed that there have been way more accidents involving guns and children than there ever should be (even one is too many), and nobody disputes that some parents are incredibly stupid when it comes to gun safety and/or keeping them inaccessible to children. I doubt there is a single one of those parents who would now say that they did everything possible to keep their guns away from their children.

I can't die! I have 43 twitter followers that depend on me! oh, and I have a daughter.

reply

I have few friends who are parents that own guns and like I mentioned early in this thread there are responsible parents who own guns that are locked in a gun cabinet in a room that is locked with high to reach locks where children can't even reach the top lock from the gun room even if child on step stool or chair and that my friend even has the top locked out of his wife reach

I agree Doc. Cardinal42 seems to think her opinion applies to everyone but is actually confirming the fact that she has no idea what she is talking about. There are responsible gun owners and irresponsible ones. Saying there is not a single parent that is a responsible gun owner is such a narrow-minded and wrong statement that all she has done is shown herself to be out of touch with the realities of life. (At least in regard to responsible gun owners, of which there are plenty.)

reply

[deleted]

Cardinal42 ignore that her favorite reality tv family own guns

Lara Croft Himiko! The First Sun Queen! This is Yamatai.

reply

My husband is a responsible gun owner. He has guns and they are all locked up, our child does not know the combo to the gun safe or where to find a key. Just sayin'. We also have always parented our child and explained dangerous things in a way she could understand. No need to scare your children senseless or tempt them to do something the minute your back is turned. I'm not trying to make us sound like parents of the year, as no one is perfect, but we try.

reply

[deleted]

We didn't put the gun in front of her and say "don't touch." What I meant by teaching is just teaching kids about everything, answering their questions honestly, etc. We didn't say "This is a handgun. No touchy. It hurty." Of course, if you take something away, most kids will do exactly what you said, at the first opportunity they will see said thing and handle it and bad things can happen. All I'm saying is you can be responsible. Obviously you disagree. This is a board where people can state experiences and opinions. Learn to see what other people say instead of discounting everything people say as something that absolutely cannot happen. Try to be more positive. You might be happier. Look that up.

Why do rich people need 5 cars? Seems like overkill

It makes me a little sad, too. Whatever you think about their show, they seemed like a genuine couple, and a sweet young family. Apparently their split is amicable and they will try to keep the business going.

I've known a few couples that split after one of the partners recovered from an extended, serious illness. You will always love each other, but a romantic partnership can sometimes change to more of a brother/sister or caretaker type relationship under those circumstances. That's on top of all the stress you already went through. I'm not saying that's what happened with T & C, but it wouldn't surprise me.

reply

[deleted]

cardinal42 the person posted that a few weeks ago, before much had come out....the couple was at the "we are in counseling and doing everything we can blah blah blah" point

I agree that they did seem like a happy couple, but in truth you really never truly know what goes on behind closed doors.
