Hey there. I am currently watching this (All Hallows' Eve) and have just made it through the second story. It made me stop for a second to think... Just why the *beep* was the Alien wearing a Traditional looking 'Alien Face' Mask (Big Eyes, Little Mouth, Grey Skin)??
You know what I mean, ..?

OK, but...ummm...since when do 'real' (as in Movie real) aliens wear Alien Masks? You know, the kind you might find at some Tourist Trap near Area 51?

how do you know real aliens dont wear alien masks? maybe thats an accurate representation of an actual alien.

I thought that was funny. Creepy alien has a mans body and an alien mask where you can see the straps.

I think the idea here is that these are the aliens that everyone sees, it's just that the "face" everyone is familiar with is really just the alien's mask. Maybe no one has ever seen what its true face looks like underneath. Or they have, and that's why there are different descriptions.

@davannacarter: No, dude. People don't shut up here. They talk to each other. If you didn't like the movie, than why are you here wasting your time bitching about it? No life? Try devoting time to things you like instead of things you don't. That way, the rest of us don't have to read your whiny little remarks.

davannacarter, you're the stupid one. So is the guy that won't seriously explain the aliens face and do none of you have a more scientific reason than "because they're aliens?"

First to you davanna, It's definitely NOT poorly acted! For the most part, these actors were very good, save for the black woman running from the alien... she had some awkward moments and the 3rd story of the woman in the car running from the clown... she has a face that looks like she's smiling slightly when it's not appropriate. But other than those two I was pleasantly surprised.

Now to the rest of you. Can't you imagine that's an alien respirator? The Predators wore 'em right? I admit however that the alien was the hokiest part of the movie. I guess they couldn't do better on their budget. I should just accept that movie nerds that say "film" and "flick" instead of movie, probably don't really understand much about science, physics and the laws of nature.

Overall I like the movie and think it deserves a little higher grade than 4.8

I'd say mid 5's

You'd have to be incredibly stupid to think that this is something they just let go, as in "Hey, let's have a clearly visible mask and... oops, is it visible? Our bad." No. Obviously, that's not what they did.

It's inarguable that the mask was intended to be clearly visible as mask, so the only question to ask is why?

An obvious explanation is that these aliens were intended to be arguably more realistic or plausible. Now, we can discuss what is or isn't plausible for an alien, but all that matters is what the filmmakers decided was plausible because that appears to be their concept for the character.

It could be argued that naked astronauts going to unknown territories that all happen to have the same emotionless face is unlikely. Alien astronauts with space equipment and face masks makes more sense in so far as that's more like what we'd have if we progress to that level in the future. It's hard to argue with the logic of an astronaut wearing protection. Even if you had mind control powers would you walk around naked? When we're dissecting cows we don't do it nude. And why do all of the greys have an identical, emotionless face? It makes more sense that it's a face mask.

I think it was Art The Clown in disguise , and he just chose that mask.

It looks like it's its breathing apparatus. It seemed to be connected to it's pack with hoses/tubes. Like we have scuba masks with those odd looking googles/masks...it had this thing... just my take on it! =)
