Seriously, (SPOILERS) don't waste your time, find some other show...full of overused cliches throughout...
It is amazing how lazy writers and creators have become when it comes to finding viewers and how often the same stories are told over and over again. Tokyo Vice is an excellent example of assembling a program from checklists and boxes and is nothing not seen before.
For example, the lead female American character is portrayed as this wise, highly intelligent businessperson but near the end completely falls for the horseshit of a pure scammer (and after KNOWING all about this scammer and his behavior).
Next, we have the young, white American reporter stirring up some serious shit with gangsters galore and walking around Toyko like he is invincible and not expecting gangsters to get a little payback.
Then, we have the gangster with the heart of gold that has to choose between the gangster's life and his personal life.
Then, the honest, veteran cop that works alone and also takes stupid chances as if he woke up on the turnip truck the day before.
Lastly, ending the season on an ignorant cliffhanger. The age of cliffhangers of the past is over - if a show is good enough, viewers will return and with so many selections available, cliffhangers like in this program will not be enough to draw viewers back to watch more crap.
