Al comes back with cancer and looks a mess, but he was only gone for 2 minutes. This leads me to believe that you age while on the other side, because cancer progressed so quickly while Al was away...

So then you cant be in loop after loop if you only have so many years of your youth and life... Its not just 2 minutes that passes? Its years and you should come back looking ancient, if we base that on Al's progressive disease in 2 minutes.

Not a plot hole. It's just a fact that goes along with this particular time travel. If you stay back 25 years and come back (come back in 1985 TO 2016), you will have aged 25 years in that 2 minutes of 2016 time.

In the book it was clear one aged naturally when in the past, but only 2 minutes passed in 2011 (the book took place in 2011)

So then there is no way to cheat time and live longer, I'm assuming
