What a lost opportunity that was, even worse because they just killed the character.
Far better would have been James Franco going back to 2016, looking the same and only 2 minutes older, and then tracking down Billy in the asylum. Billy would have been shocked...and angry...and Franco could have helped him get out.

Jake would have been three years older. You age the amount of time you spend in the past, it's just the present day where just a couple of minutes pass.
Billy entered asylum in 1963. Jake had already aged those three years by then.

It doesn't matter what happened because Jake reset the timeline anyway. Bill will probably still be alive in 2016 but just with no memory of Jake. I actually thought it would have been nice if he'd looked him up, as well as Sadie
