Bill and Sadie believe Jake's story too easily when they meet him

Just a notebook and a newspaper clip and that's it ? As if time travellers from the future were visiting Texas in the sixties on a regular basis. He could have been completely nuts but they don't have any doubts about his story. Nobody would risk their lives to help him with so few évidences of such an incredible theory as time travel. That doesn't make sense.

In the book {spoiler}---> Bill dies the same evening that Jake kills what's his face. However, the story with Sadie is much more involved and as a matter of fact, after several things that occurred that befuddled her, SHE asks HIM "are you from the future?".

I'm NOT a book reader and nearly never touch books; that being said, this one I may actually pick up. Because I am interested to know and see the differences between the series and book. This is interesting and I was also wondering the same thing. You really thing anyone in their rightful mind would just be OK with some guy saying "I'm from the future"? In reality, the way the show did it, I think Sadie would have wanted to get him mental help. -_-

sedativchunk, I too am not a book reader and also rarely touch one. However in this case I bought the book as I wanted to, for the first time, have the experience of reading a book prior to it becomeing a film/series. The FEW times I had read books in the last three decades were AFTER seeing the film/series.

I had a hard time reading it (mind wanders too much), so I got the audio-book ( which is like 37 hours if I recall.). I am mentioning it as that may be a better option for you. Pus, the reader (Craig Wasson, the actor) did a FANTASTIC job. He got many praises for his effort.

Bill's just a bored Kentucky hillbilly looking for any excitement he can find. He'll go along whether he believes it or not. She's a frustrated housewife looking for romance and he's handsome enough to negate any reluctance she might have.
