What if Sadie had gone through the portal to 2016?
I had always wondered about this, was it possible for someone from 1960 to go through the portal?
shareI had always wondered about this, was it possible for someone from 1960 to go through the portal?
shareBased on the way this show works, she wouldn't have lasted long. She would have stepped in front of a tractor trailer or something. Plus there's no guarantee of what the future would have held had JFK survived. The same could be argued for any historical event,
shareI don't think it was as clear in the series, but she was thinking about it in the book. She kept asking Jake, "Will I like it where you're from?"
shareYes, in the book they were planning on Sadie returning to the present with Jake. I believe her facial scar and injuries from the attack by her husband were worse in the book, and Jake was planning on her getting some modern surgery in the present.
But obviously, like the mini series, those plans were thwarted by the events in the TSBD.
She would have come face to face with her old retired librarian self which would rip apart the space-time continuum and destroy the universe.
shareBut that didn't happen in Back to the Future.
shareIf she went with Jake then she was removing herself from the past altogether and there's no other "version" of her to become old.
shareBecause instead of saying "You shouldn't be here" the people in the future would say to her, "Yo, bitch! Git yer ass back where you came from! Word!" And Sadie would realize that Jake's world was really *beep* up and she didn't see any sense in being there.
shareIf the cafe owner can bring beef from 1960 thru the portal, so can Sadie pass through the portal to 2016.
shareShe never would have made it to the portal because she would always die BEFORE she and Jake get the chance to go back to 2016
shareWhy would she always die? She died ONE TIME by a gunshot from Oswald. He stopped in his second chance with her. Then she lived to be old. There is zero proof she’d die again.
