I just watched the movie and have not started the tv series yet. I understand the series does not deal with Aunt Elizabeth and Wyn. But what the heck happened to the character named Edward?

Did the writers change his name to Jack or is Jack an altogether new character?

New character. Edward rode off to do Teen Wolf. So they found some one else and he is Great!
