Questions

Why did Jack book out of town and give Elizabeth the cold shoulder?
What did Mr. Avery drop that made the other guy suspicious?

To your first point: Just my theory since no explanation was given, although I'm sure one will be provided in a future episode; I think Jack felt out of place. He also saw how happy she was fitting back in with the lifestyle of her family; a lifestyle that has never been his, nor will it likely ever be. Jack is a strong character because, to a large degree, he knows who he is. Elizabeth is young and still a bit flighty and immature. She still needs to figure out who she is and what she wants in life. She is too easily influenced by what others think of her and also by an impulse to please the members of her family. I think Jack realized that Elizabeth was beginning to feel a bit conflicted, and he is wisely giving her the time and space to figure things out for herself.

To your second question: It was a brief shot, but looked to be a small bundle of money.

reply

1. I have to agree; I think he's giving her some space so she can make her own choice.

2. And yes, I believe it was a parcel filled with money.

Thank you for answering my questions.

I thought it was a book, LOL!!!

Do you think the guy is shady, and that his wife is really dead?

^^ I agree with your explanation spasek on why Jack left. It makes perfect sense after the simple and civilized conversation he had with Elizabeth's father after dinner. As for the second response, I couldn't get a good look at it. I'm not too savy with the pause and zoom buttons so I will take the majorities vote. Now, if it was a parcel of money, WOW, that is going to cause a huge commotion in future episodes! I'm excited to see what it was and how it plays out.

Indeed! But the question is: Is it something bad/sinister? I'll admit that the photo of his wife and child threw me off a bit before he explained to Abigail that it wasn't what she thought it was (not giving the explanation because I know there are some who haven't seen the Season 2 premiere yet).

Makes me wonder if his explanation was a lie or not, or is it something quite innocent. Guess we'll have to wait to find out. ;) I just hope he isn't using Abigail, but then again, he very well might be.

I believe Jack felt he wasn't welcomed by Elizabeth's family.
It looks to me that Mr. Avery dropped a big packet of money!

I recognize the woman playing Bill Avery's wife, as someone from General Hospital, I think, but can't think of her role?.

reply

She's Kristina Wagner.

She is Jack Wagner's (Bill Avery) real life ex-wife. She plays Felicia Scorpio on General Hospital. Felicia is now married to Mac Scorpio on the show but back in the 80s and early 90s Felicia was married to Frisco Jones (played by the aforementioned Jack Wagner).

Frisco and Felicia are Maxie Jones', and her late sister Georgie Jones', biological parents. Mac and Felicia were first married many years ago when both Maxie and Georgie were still kids. This is why Maxie refers to Mac as her dad. He's her step-dad, but he was the one who raised them. The Felicia/Mac Scorpio marriage is also how Maxie and Robin Scorpio became "cousins". Robin is Mac's niece, which makes her Maxie's step-cousin.

Jack Wagner and Kristina Wagner met on the show when they played 80s super couple Frisco and Felicia. When she first came on the show her name was Kristina Malandro. She changed it to Wagner after they married.
