A plot question from someone new to the show
Hey,
I'm new to show, just started watching with season 2 as it airs, and I'm a little confused about the relationship between Jack and Rosemary. What's their story?

Before Jack came to Coal Valley he was engaged to Rosemary. She showed up in the second to last episode of season 1 looking for him because she still wanted to marry him.
Of course in the episode when she arrived in town on the stage it just happened that it was Elizabeth who greeted her and asked why she had come to Coal Valley. She told Elizabeth she was there to see her fiancee. Elizabeth assumed it was one of the miners and just then Jack rode down the street and Rosemary said "No, there he is now!".
It turned out that they "had" been engaged, but Rosemary had broken things off with Jack over 2 years earlier because he wanted to work as a Mountie and she wanted to be an actress on stage in New York. When things didn't go as planned in New York she found out where he was stationed and followed him there to try and get him back.

Thanks a lot! That clears things up really well! I had watched the 1 minute recap of season one on the Hallmark website and it did seem like they had been engaged but that didn't really fall in line with the way Jack was acting towards her now.
