Why oh why did the producers decide to insert modern references in a show set in the early 1900s?
The actresses have all sorts of goofy streaks, highlights, and lowlights with their unnatural hair colors.
When Elizabeth and her sisters go shopping, they bring back modern shopping bags.
When Abigail ventures out in a rain storm, she has a modern umbrella.
Will Elizabeth's wedding gown be a Vera Wang creation?
LOL Season 2 was especially bad for that, especially compared to Season 1, where the biggest complaint was Jack using a flashlight. I think they might have gotten more money between seasons...and decided to use it to up everyone's costumes & make them more glam.
(Think of Lori Loughlin's character too between S1 & 2, going from a plainer, harder look in S1, to suddenly wearing her hair down & looking more like her characters from Full House & the CW's 90210 again, in S2 & 3.)
I noticed particularly in last night's holiday special that the women's make-up looked very much like today's.
