Abigail is a thief!!!
Abigail is a thief. I have waited several episodes for the writers to prove me wrong, but since they refuse to do so, I am left to draw no other conclusion than she is a thief.
At the end of the mine trial, the judge gave her a satchel stuffed with cashed. He entrusted it to Abigail to distribute it to herself and the 46 other widows.
She never did.
When she urged Clara to stay in Coal Valley, she could have given her her cut then.
When she finds Clara in Hamilton and is being held as an indentured servant, she could have given her the money then.
She does no such thing.
Clara returns to Hope Valley with Abigail and instead if giving Clara an envelope of money that is her share, she puts her to work in the diner.
When she calls Clara aside and says I want to give you something....and when I was just about to think that Abigail was just being patient---she gives Clara a stupid baseball.
Abigail has stolen all the money the judge entrusted her with. Abigail knows that the money is a secret and will never be accounted for.
She stole it.
You are a thief, Abigail.
Note to Lori Laughlin....if you don't want to have your character perceived this way, why do you let these stupid writers portray you in such a negative light. You could have easily brought it to the attention of the writers, producers and director. You should have insisted they devote 2 lines and 15 second of you slipping Clara an envelope of cash....unless you really ARE a thief!
Awful writing.
