I see I'm not the only one...

Annoyed by the hairstyles! I find it distracting even...I'm supposed to believe it's the old west while Lori Laughlin is strutting around with beach waves and highlights?! I don't think so...I'm not expecting Downton Abbey accuracy, but come on!

You're right regarding all your observations, but I think they had to make all the characters attractive to win over an audience that needs the eye candy to develop an attachment to the characters.

But Lori is so beautiful. Just had to throw that in.

Agreed. I find it irritating. It is not in keeping at all with the style of the time, nor is the full makeup that the women are obviously wearing (dark eye makeup, lipstick, strong highlighting, etc.). But "pretty people" are what seem to get the ratings these days, so they bow to the masses.

I am enjoying the wholesome storylines though. One has to give them props for that.

they have always done that though..

like period pieces from Hollywood...

I mean they show leg in a movie made in the 50's and it's supposed to be about the early 1900's...that so wasn't allowed....

I remember this guy on johnny carson once, he was like 90 and johnny said, what do you remember most, and he said....when women showed a bit of ankle.....so if you notice on stuff like remember me in st Louis.....and the dresses they wore....that so would have been a no-no.

there is nothing accurate anymore....

I have seen four eppies so far, and so far I like.....we're not getting it this weekend, because it's the finish of the Calgary stampede

When talent and good scripts are both lacking, they have to do something to catch viewers' eyes.

It seems to bug a lot of viewers, including me. I don't think they give viewers enough credit sometimes; people will hold on to a show much longer if the stories are still captivating. And yes, Lori is very pretty, even without the extra makeup. They could at least attempt to make them look naturally beautiful, more like they did in the first season. I was so annoyed when Abigail actually admitted to using makeup. I doubt that a poor widow in the early 1900's would ever spend her little money on makeup... Not to mention that makeup was not as popular, nor even accepted at that time.
