Elizabeth Thatcher

One thing that's annoying is how Elizabeth Thatcher doesn't fit into Hope Valley. She keeps trying to act like she's meant to be in the country but I still don't see her belonging there. She's always a damsel in distress that needs to be saved. You don't really see her strong. Also, the show keeps pushing for her and Jack to be together but I don't see them as a good match either. Hopefully there will be more character development in this coming season.

Yes, she's been saved by Jack three times now, she's not exactly what I'd call a strong female character.

I bet Jack's mother (played by Brooke Shields), will question Elizabeth's fitness to be a Mountie wife.

She's a spoiled rich girl fulfilling her dream of running away from home, the teaching part is also her rebelling from her family, if she had to teach they would prefer she teach somewhere prestigious not a little town in the backwaters.

She's not strong, I would class her more as stubborn and because of her wealthy family, gender and looks she gets away with things, usually.

Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.

She portrays herself as a saintly martyr.
