Ok, I get that this is a fictional town, but I'm still trying to place where Hope Valley is. I've heard it is in Alberta, but I'm assuming there would be snow around New Year's if it was there. I know, tv show, but no snow around New Year's? It's Canada! That would only be possible if it were closer to Vancouver., who have relatively little snowfall. I think they mentioned being west of the Rockies too. Is Hamilton made up too or is it supposed to be the Hamilton in Ontario? That seems pretty far to just take a train there several times in a year's time (in 1910). Plus, if it's the "big" city, wouldn't they travel through/close to much larger cities before Hamilton?

I'm sure I'm thinking way too much about this, but I'm just trying to get a sense of location and lack of really cold weather!

In the movie there's a mention of Calgary. So yeah, it's usually pretty cool and snowy. However, regardless of what Leo Dicaprio tells you otherwise, we get chinooks that warm us and can wipe out the snow in a few hours!

I'll watch and see what's what.
