Elizabeth makes it hard to watch

She's so awkward. The way she talks, her facial expressions, and the way her mouth moves. I guess these are all on the actress, really. But whenever she's on screen, it's hard to focus on anything but her annoying mouth. Lol I'm not sure why, but everything about her mouth is just extremely annoying to me.

Also, she acts super awkward whenever Jack is around. I cringe a little when they're together. I'm almost through with Season 1 on Netflix, so maybe she gets better in Season 2 & 3. Hopefully.

yeah, was quite a disappointment altogether with the entire production after only about 20 minutes in, but she was just awful. was really looking forward to it also

I'm on the last episode of Season 1. I'm surprised I've made it this far.

I like be her laugh too. It's so genuine. I haven't seen such a natural actress in a long time. She's so comfortable on screen.

So disagree. I like her plenty. It took awhile get use to Jack after seeing Stephen Amell play the role in movie which started the series but love Daniel. Can't see anyone else playing him now.

I read the same sorts of negative comments regarding Dr. Julia Ogden in Murdoch Mysteries. I enjoy watching both Elizabeth and Dr. Ogden. Abigail is my favorite character on this show. She is a real "quality woman".

Yeah, I agree ... the writers did a great job with her role in making her both humble and strong at the same time and I generally don't like Lori Loughlin (just a personal thing) but she carries this role surprisingly well.

I enjoy her as Elizabeth. I agree her mouth is a little different but it becomes her.

Totally agree. It might be on the director because all three of the Thatcher sisters are equally annoying. I love Abigail and watch for her story. I like Abigail with the parson, though, and don't care for Bill Avery.

I haven't started S2 yet. The Thatcher sisters are annoying. And I like Abigail too. Is Rosemary still annoying too?

Abigail is a "quality woman". She is my favorite character on the show. Elizabeth's family are a bunch of "snoots". Elizabeth is the best of the group.

Haha I'm still managing to get through (currently on Season 2) but mostly because I really enjoyed Janette Oakes books growing and enjoy many of the characters of this show. The actress who plays Elizabeth was also on Army Wives and irritated the mess out of me too for the same reasons! I can't help but wonder if she's had some sort of speech therapy and over enunciates or forms words she used to have problems with? Same thing when she was on Army Wives-if fast forward through her scenes even though I adored who she was usually playing off of in those scenes (Catherine Bell).

I've also noticed one of her favourite responses is a breathy "Oh" it becomes comedic at times.

Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.
