You'll never know if you'll like it until you try it.

Personally I'm not impressed so far. I tried watching it and I couldn't even make it through one episode. I might try to keep watching and see if it gets better. I love period pieces usually but I just feel like the acting and writing is just so forced and cheesy. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take it seriously. The two characters that you know are going to get together literally meet for a minute and are civil to each other and all of a sudden a minute later they get all snarky at each other and it's just so over the top. I guess I was expecting something more.

I feel like it has improved since the first season. I actually like season 2 more than season 1- seems like it's found more of its stride at this point. Is it Downton Abbey? No. I enjoy it though.

I love the show, it's set in the early 1900s in a small mining town in Canada. The main focus of the show is the main characters of the teacher and the Canadian Mountie, but there are lots of other characters (the townspeople) to round out the cast, too.

If you like Little House on the Prairie you'll probably like When Calls the Heart.

If you've seen and liked the 1994 Kellie Martin series Christy (1994), then you'll like When Calls the Heart.

The two are very similar in style and both are about young ladies from affluent families who moved away from the city and their families to rural areas to become teachers.

Christy also was set in the early 1900s, but in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee.

you'll find a lot who don't like it .. the clothing and set are not exactly late 1800s early 1900s - the actors are "iffy" - but let's face, this is Hallmark. They focus on the heart ... love, conquering evil, solving problems, stirring our emotions and imo the WCH does exactly that ... I get riled up at some characters and really want to see blood spilled but that won't happen here. Instead a peaceful ride on the stage coach out of town or in the jail wagon seems to solve all their problems LOL.

For me, the sweetness of the series, the focus on life's lessons, hailing love and kindness, sharing and compassion as the "hallmarks" of life is why I watch and cannot WAIT for the next installment ... I am finishing Season 3 right now and already DREADING the wait for season 4. Seems to me that no matter how technically bad Hallmark series are for me they are best entertainment on television.

You should watch from season 1 and make up your own mind - download Adblocker Plus THEN catch up on primewire.ag - I HOPE I'm not breaking any IMDB rules with that ... I just checked them again and didn't see anything --
Good Luck and enjoy -- I truly truly LOVE this series..
