one of the most unlikeable main characters ive seen

Loved the film and gyllenhall was terrific but i despised lou bloom. Im not gonna try to label him as psychopath/sociopath but its clear he had zero morality or conscience. I really wanted him to pay in the end BUT in the real world the bad guy does get away many times Unfortunetly

Then I think the movie and character has done its job. It happens all the time in jobs and the world as well.

Liking Jake as an actor and having my favorite movies, this is one I really think I wouldn't want to see on a Friday popcorn night. And wouldn't prefer over his other movies. Or his character. But that's the thing, that's also in a way a good thing because of his acting and the message. Business, etc. On the other hand, I could watch End of Watch but would have to watch that only in moderation just like this one (but could get through End of Watch despite what happens at the end).

Tragic, but oh so true. It's why I don't watch news broadcasts.

Mankind has wrecked this planet, taken it down, along with nature and even time itself.

I agree with the OP--Lou was a despicable "human being."

This story exemplifies the end justifying the means--the mantra of so many business enterprises.

Actors do not have a job...they have a blast!

Many times during the movie I thought that Lou recalled me a younger Anton Chigur from "Not a Country for Old Men".
