shareWhat would they be able to do with a sequel? They've shown how insane he is, they've shown the consequences. Wouldn't the sequel seem kind of repetitive?
shareIt would probably end up ridiculous, or just a copy of the original. This is the same struggle that most sequels face, especially comedies. Movies like the Hangover and Ted do well, but the sequels end up falling flat when people complain that they are either too ridiculous or just a copy of the original.
This movie easily falls into that category. The escalation was done real well throughout the movie as Lou moved from casually being interested in Nightcrawling, to doing sketchy stuff like crossing police barriers to get shots, to extremely illegal stuff like witholding information from the cops about murders.
I'm sure someone out there could come up with an awesome Nightcrawler 2 plot, but most likely it wouldnt work. The first one was barely realistic when it came to how much stuff he got away with. A sequel that upped the ante would be too unbelievable.
