have afforded that car on what he was making nightcrawling? Aside from rent and food and paying Rick. Did he live in the car more than his apartment?

I think he probably could have afforded the payments, but I'm not sure how he could get a loan to start with. I doubt he has a good credit score and he has no official job other than his sketchy self employment. I doubt any normal bank would give him a loan, so he probably had to go somewhere less strict, which usually means paying way more in the long run.

We are never told all the details of his "contract" with the TV station, maybe part of it was they would lease a car for him to use. The TV station could write it off as a business expense. There are just unlimited possibilities on "how he could afford that car." But we see him in it so he figured out some way, didn't he?
