Some questions (obviously spoilers)

1. Who shot Tarek, and why?

2. Why does Omar keep climbing over the Israel/Palestine wall? Doesn't all the action take place in Palestine? Or if Omar lives on the Israeli side of the wall, how would he have gotten to know Nadia in the first place?

3. Amjad says that both he and Nadia would be killed if her pregnancy was discovered. Why would this be true? And then it turns out that she wasn't pregnant anyhow... so why does Amjad claim that she was? Just to get rid of Omar? Was Nadia two-timing Omar with Amjad?

Answer to number 3. I think that Amjad was also collaborating with the Israeli officer. Nadia wasn't pregnant then. This was a plot arranged by the Israeli officer to aggravate Omar and emotionally separate the bond between the members of the group plotting actions against Israel. Nadia was just giving little letters to Amjad to give to Omar, but the whole thing with the pregnancy was a set up.

Answer to number 2 . The wall as I understand is inside the disputed territories. It separates the settler from the local population. Those walls also separate Palestinian villages because of their placement. They are very long, so people to get from one place to another which is just behind the wall, have to travel often long distances. Or climb the wall.

Answer to number 1. Either Amjad or Omar killed Tarek. I can't say which one because I got scared and closed my eyes.

1. I'm not sure you're supposed to know who actually shot Tarek. But I think Amjad set up the situation to play out as it did. So essentially he killed Tarek even if he didn't fire the gun. I think he did this for a lot of reasons. Mostly because Amjad knew he would oppose the marriage despite Nadia's fake pregnancy. And I think Amjad was scared Tarek would find out he was the traitor and kill him.

2. I agree with the other poster. I think they must be walls within The West Bank.

3. Nadia was not two-timing Omar with Amjad. He wanted to be with Nadia and knew the only way he could was to lie to Omar and tell him that she was pregnant with his (Amjad's) baby so Omar would back off. I was just as confused as you were about why Nadia would be killed. I don't think the Palestinians would kill a woman for getting pregnant out of wedlock, and definitely don't think they would kill the man who impregnated her. This might have just been a tool the filmmakers used to stop Omar from his actions. I'm curious, so if anyone has answers, please let us know. Thanks!

Ariana, according to Reuter Agency, the honor killings are on the rise in the Palestinian Territories http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/11/us-palestinians-women-killing-idUSBRE9BA06420131211

1. My impression is that the shooting of Tarek was an accidental result of the scuffle. I don't think the shooting was pre-planned. Once Tarek died I believe Omar figured he might as well give the body to the Shin Bet officer to trick the officer into believing that Omar had intentionally killed Tarek to satisfy his cooperation pledge to the Shin Bet.

2. As for the wall people think it divides Israel from the West Bank, but actually it also crosses through Palestinian towns in the West Bank, and it divides neighbors from each other. Thus Omar, Tarek and Amjad grew up together in the same Palestinian town but Omar's home was later separated by the wall.

3. Amjad and Nadia were at risk of honor killings due to having sex out of wedlock. Amjad lied to Omar about getting Nadia pregnant because he was colluding with the Shin Bet on this story (part of the Shin Bet's plan to control Omar) and to get Omar to back off in pursuing Nadia because Amjad was in love with her and wanted to marry her. Amjad's ruse worked as planned as Omar did not ask for Nadia's hand but instead supported the marriage of Amjad and Nadia.

The movie is a little hard to understand if you really dont know the prevailing political situations..
thats what happened to me

1. I think it was Tarek himself in the scuffle.

3. Honor killings. Amjad was making that up so that he could marry Nadia. This obviously is the biggest concern here, not that he could end up in jail. Or that he could be killed by Tarek/Omar.

One stupid twist and the film falls apart.

I think we're supposed to not know for sure how Tarek got killed, whether Omar and Amjad set it up or whether it was an accident.

I've been to Palestine. The wall is all over. It separates Palestinian villages from one another. Its purpose is to destroy the Palestinian economy and society.

Amjad wanted to marry Nadia and get rid of Omar as a rival and get rid of Tarek as an obstacle. Yes, Nadia was at least flirting with Amjad. I don't recall Amjad saying Nadia would be killed; I recall him saying he would be killed if Nadia's pregnancy was discovered.

I think it was Rami/Israelis who killed Tarek who followed them by Omar's tracker which is why Omar was looking around so much afterwards to see if he could spot the shooter. Both Omar and Amjad were searched and if Tarek had a gun he would have used it or at least pointed it at Amjad instead of beating him with the flask.
