the main theme is amnesia. nothing like Misery, which itself like King's pulp junk was a low brow, for the dumb masses, derivative of earlier work

I would say more like While you were sleeping (Young Sandra bullock film) crossed with elements of Misery. Still going to watch it.

Seems more like Misery than While You Were Sleeping, and I've seen all three. But Misery was the only one I didn't regret watching. This one was a waste of time. And that time, though only 84 minutes, felt like 3 hours.

How about unknown Liam Neeson.

That's exactly what I thought of when I saw the trailer. It'd be nearly impossible to make any film about a psychotic woman incapacitating and controlling the object of her obsession without making comparisons to Misery. Amnesiac doesn't look nearly as captivating though...
