Another case of
Another case of great idea---horrible execution.
I also don't even understand how the writers would think it was passable for the cops, esspecially the detective to be the worst. detective. ever. Ever. It was laughable. Like my mom and I were CRACKING UP anytime he was in a scene. He kept getting calls about missing people---- and through his mumbling which I could barley understand most of the time he was making jokes about it like "Oh maybe this missing person ran over the mailman" or something some BS that was stupid.
And yet at the end of this HORRIBLE film he takes this case so seriously?
He shows up at that house---says there are missing people and she quickly, nervously and creepily says "I am running a bath would you excuse me?" AND HE JUST WALKS AWAY!!!!!! Were the writers trying to make this funny?
And she happens to get away?
They also never explain the dead dude in her basement, which I am guessing is another "collected husband" to get her pregnant. I don't think he ever was her husband. At all. Just another collected guy.
I don't even understand the ending which was trying to be so "clever" but really it was just stupid. I was hoping after wasting my time with this that the detective would actually do something, or maybe get killed for being so useless. But that SHE would get killed by Wes Bentley. That would have been a cliche but satisfying ending rather than this one. And it would have been more satisfying to see the Detective was in on it, for some money.... to excuse how useless and ignorant he was throughout the entire film.
So, he was there when they kidnapped there. How did the accident happen? Because she was drugging him the entire time they were kidnapping her? Dude if she drugged him that much he wouldn't be awake let alone able to drive.
Still don't know. How did this woman who seems to not get hurt (got stabbed 3 times pretty deep by the girl and it didnt affect her. Guess pain isnt an issue.) not get in trouble for all her BS she pulls and obviously not die.....or get hurt in the car accident. They never explained that. How the accident occurred but she wasn't in the car--or maybe was---or wtf who cares this movie is ridiculous.
So she was drugging him even before the accident, and he thought they were married? Is that it? That still makes no sense.
Was also hoping Wes Bentley could make the film good because hes a great actor but the script was so bad he really had no chance. And Kate Bosworth did her best to be creepy and psychotic, and pulled it off, but pulled it off in SUCH a boring way. She could have portrayed that character in a much more interesting way. The entire movie was monotone, so her being monotone was just too much.
Horrible. Just horrible.
