I just like how all of them were horrible and double faces. People are used that Hollywood tries to show goodness in people and we all expect them to behave accordingly. And in other similar shows players always try to pretend they are better and fake their personas. But here we see real society and how people behave.
MAI was fake and two face. Played nice momma but her true character came when she eliminated her friend Roland with box challenge simply because he would not suspect her be this bitchy and cruel.
PHIL Hippy was probably the only real nice person.
BEARDED GUY was just creepy. Zero personality
432 FRAT BOY was hilarious villain. Like someone said: "He still thinks he is in high school and acts like tough bully. But no one takes him seriously and I dont think he understands it". Was glad when he got eliminated so early in such cruel way. When he was all ready for rope power challenge. And gathered team of strong men. Only to stand there in kids ship and be out in childrens game
Ashley was just bitch. Horrible person. When she refused to do her part and wanted someone else to do it. So happy she was kicked.
Australian Blondie woman was actually fun.
Coach was all Mister Nice Guy and eventually they were annoyed by him. This is the guy who appoints himself Leader in every surviving apocalypse movie. Rick Grimes type.
TREY and his MOTHER. I actually liked them. Trey was such a loser but I kinda rooted for him at the end. Once his mommy was out he was actually more confident and himself. He was more brave and sympathetic.
there's honestly too many for me to list, I hated damn near everyone on the show haha!
I think the biggest standouts would have to beeee....
Ashley.
figgy.
coach carter, just boiling over with tactless fake positivity.
the peroxide blonde scouser with the pink face and a huge chip on her shoulder.
the mother.
the smug girl with yellow highlights who takes every opportunity to tell everyone how "super intelligent" she is.
lorenzo or whatever his name was, he was beyond irritating.
and an honorable mention for every morally bankrupt scumbag who pulled out a card for every possible disadvantage they could think of, as though it were justification for why they deserve the win over everyone else and a free pass to the next round.
"I'm deaf!"
"I'm old!"
"I'm female!"
"I'm gay!"
"I'm short!"
"I gave away a kidney!"
"I've always been underestimated!"
"my folks hate me!"
if any of them actually genuinely cared about any of these issues they wouldn't shamelessly use them to their advantage to win some money
on the flip side I liked hippy guy, and the Asian geordie guy that 432 tried to bully. he played that phone thing so badly it should have been so easy to get any one of those vultures to pick up that phone, I totally agree about 432 being a funny villain who still thinks he's a high school jock, it made him an asshole but also made him funny and therefore kind of likeable. I liked Trey too, but like OP said, I only really started to like him after his mummy got the boot. I liked Mai for a few reasons but one of the things that separated her from the rest was that her backstory of being evacuated from Saigon was the ONLY one in the whole show that was serious, the rest were just idiots shamelessly laying down cards for a cheap advantage.
Frat boy 432 was hilarious in his stupidity and bravado.
I revisited that little fight of their in episode 2. 432 Bryton and Phone Guy. Its around 36 minute.
- If you call me a frat boy again... I won't put my hands at you! Because I... wont. But when we will get of this bitch... I might!
- All right, frat boy.
- Cool, - says 432. And wants to walk away being all treating and powerful. And it took him 2 second to realize that he was just being called Frat Boy again and that dude laughed at him.
Epic. He should have been kicked out right there by producers. Because he treated to another played to beat him up after game. It should not be acceptable.
Phone guy (198) at interview:
"432 is like one of them lousy things in high school that thinks its cool and talk shit to everyone. And I dont think anyone are actually scared of him. They just dont like him. I don't think he realizes that".
haha yeah that really made me laugh how it took meat-head a few secs to realise he got called frat boy again. like he's either so dumb he didn't realise, or he's so used to getting his way when playing the bully that it took him a minute to register that someone stood up to him
I didn't think about him getting kicked out but you make a good point, he did pick some skinny guy half his size and threaten him like he was gonna beat him up after school
Also your point about him getting eliminated in the tiny ship on a kid's game was so funny, I laughed out loud
I was actually willing to give benefit of doubt to 432. Like maybe its all bravado and he is teddy bear behind it al. And then Mother of Trey went to talk to him while he was lying on the bed. And nope - he really is just an entitled a-hole.
And then he brought race card. While telling that it was him and his mom on earth. Who was 21 when he was born. So black father was absent. And then he tells idiotic story how his White young mom could not teach anything young Black kid.
Bitch, please. You are so light skinned that you are almost white passing. Do you actually think you are black? You are very privileged among black people
And good way to shit on you mom who raised you while your black daddy slept with her and never looked back at his son.
totally with you there, I thought he totally disrespected the person who had raised him all to try and conjure up a card to use because there was nothing else in his privileged life to try and evoke sympathy from, shows just how much he really thinks of his mum to use her like that.
besides it's all bullshit what he said, I'm black and my dad is white and he taught me how to be a man. skin colour has jack shit to do with any of it.
While I agree with most, Mai did seem to care for a few people but at the end of it she would have to go against everyone. I mean imagine if one of the groups got to the box game, they'd have to pick someone.
It annoyed me how everyone forgot how Ashley betrayed Trey and then expected others to go past her in the bridge game. If I was the guy behind I'd have said I'll go past anyone but not you. The guy who made it unfair in the marble game was also annoying.
Rick did seem genuine. He genuinely seemed upset when he thought he'd sent his friend home
I would actually like to see their faces when they watched edited version of show and saw who ratted them out.
There were some challenges like the one where they were blindfold and some didn't know who kicked them out. Like when Mai kicked her friend Roland. Or what they said about others behind their back in interviews. Some contestants were were surprised to find out.
But they all seem happy on red carpets and interviews, to get attention and 15 seconds of fame and probably dont care.
