Fifteen minutes in, it's not so bad. Then again, it just started. Was this even filmed in Japan? Is it safe to assume they filmed this in Canada and set it in Japan near Aokigahara?

Ha, that's funny. I missed the first minutes of the movie when it played earlier and I decided to wait for this later showing because I was sure there MUST be some crucial exposition I'd missed. Apparently. . .no.
P.S. It doesn't help the pace when SyFy programs ten minutes of movie followed by five minutes of commercial.
