Since when did they change..

The name Chicago PD to the "Sophia Bush" show? I mean Jesus Christ in the beginning everyone in the unit was involved. Antonio had storylines, so did Alvin, even those 2 Dildos ruzek and Erin's bf. But what theF uck! I don't want to watch a poor me I'm Erin I need attention show, I tune in to watch a show about Cops set in Chicago.

Dick Wolf lost his touch. It's now "The Erin show (PD)", "The Olivia show (SVU)" and "The Gabby show (Fire)".
The producers and writers are feeding way too much into the personal relationships rather than concentrating on the actual crime/fire/emergency which means all of the shows are losing their original feeling.

This may be a result of trying to create a strong woman character on each of these shows. Personally, I have no problem with Benson. She's earned her screen time on SVU after so many years.

Lindsay, on the other hand, doesn't come off as a strong character. I'd rather see Platt. There's a woman who has come up through the ranks in a male dominated profession. Lindsay just works her relationship with Voight. She's a terrible cop and I have no interest in her personal life either.

The show became about Olivia the moment Elliot quit the show. I don't mind that at all cause unlike Erin, Olivia is not a whiny brat.

I was really hoping Gabby wasn't going to come out of that building. I'm so tired of her "poor me" attitude.

Erin is my least favorite character followed by Atwater.

reply

Yes I don't like Sophia and her rusty raspy voice. I agree with you it was better when everyone had their own story.

reply

That is why I don't like this show any more. I follow their tumblr account and everything it posts is about her or her CP. I want Antonio!! His divorce is the last thing about his story line, which is over 1 season ago. Since then, everything is about Erin. Finally we get some other storyline this season, but next season it will go back to all Erin mode. This show does not only consist Voight and Erin. Other people do exist too.

it was ALWAYS the Sophia Bush show...she has been pushed as the female star from the beginning...look at the print advertising...she's the only female there even though they two other female officers on the show and if they show the other two they're off to the side or far off in the back while Sophia is front and center...

It's not really her fault though when you actually think about it. The producers and writers pushed Erin forward as the main character from the start.

All of Dick Wolf's shows (minus Med... from what I could gather from the three episodes I watched before giving up) are now focused around one female lead- Gabby in Fire, Olivia in SVU and now Erin in PD. It's also more about relationships and personal drama which ruins them.

I honestly don't think it's right to blame Sophia though, nor is it right to blame Monica or Mariska. They're just doing their jobs and following the producers' and writers' directions.

So that justifies treating the other actors like they don't matter anymore? Cause of miss popularity?

reply

I think she is just saying that you shouldn't hate Sophia because she is doing the job she is given. Take it up with the writers about the others not getting enough screen time. I saw Antonio will be getting a love interest next season

reply

Thank you! That's exactly what I'm saying.

Also, I didn't know Antonio was getting a love interest! That will definitely be interesting to see (even if I liked him and Laura together). A Dawson storyline is second best to an Olinsky one in my books 

reply

I'm simply saying don't judge Sophia for the writers and producers forcing Erin into every storyline.

Even Med is probably not as bad as Chicago Law is going to be. What kind of credibility does a pretty little teenager have in a DA's office?
