My thoughts on each season

Season 1 was actually pretty good. Billy Bob Thorton's character made it enjoyable. The whole season was a pleasant surprise, which obviously inspired me to keep watching the series.

Season 2 is easily my favorite. I liked the characters. Especially Woodbine's character. Very memorable dialogue and scenes. The only thing I didn't like about season 2 was how it ended. Very anti climatic. But still, aside from that, my favorite season.

Season 3 was surprisingly not that bad, but not great either. It had it's moments. But compared to seasons 1 & 2 it wasn't as impressive. Certainly still watchable though.

I don't understand all the hype over season 4. I could only make it through like 3 episodes. I just found it incredibly boring and slow. I won't be watching anymore of this season. Hopefully season 5 is better.

Mostly agree.
Season 1 is very good. Martin Freeman is also excellent, and his character's story arc is great.
Season 2 is also my favorite. Patrick Wilson carries it for me. Jesse Plemons was also excellent.
Season 3 is very flawed. Some great performances, especially from David Thewlis, but the "Big Name" actor (Ewan McGregor. who is usually great) falls flat.
Season 4 doesn't work on many levels. I feel there was a sharp decline in the writing. Chris Rock did not sell it. Jessie Buckley, who is super talented, did a good job with what she had. I just wish she was given more of a central role than the quirky "angel of death" nurse she was given.
