Who did he work for?
How was he trained?
Where did he come from and what’s his backstory?
What made him so cold yet sarcastic?

He's whoever you want him to be

I personalty think he's meant to represent pure pragmatic evil

Adding a backstory or explanation for his motivations would've lessened the mystery of his character.

Same goes for VM Varga in Season 3,& in a way,Hanzee in Season 2.(Though you do get more of an explanation/backstory for him)

I think he's meant to be the personification of pure evil. What is known as 'Satan' in Christian mythology. Eg, when he eats the apple pie at the diner he says something like 'I haven't tasted apple like that since the Garden of Eden'.
