Are you sitting comfortably?

Good. Then I'll begin.

That was an amazing opening sequence!
Billy Bob Thornton narrating Peter and the Wolf
Each character is an animal and also is a musical instrument.

Emmet Stussy is the bird
Ray Stussy is the duck
Nikki is the cat
Sy is the grandfather
Juri is the hunter's shotgun
Varga is the wolf
and Gloria is Peter

the story of Peter and the Wolf
The bird distracts the wolf by flying over his head while Peter lowers a noose and catches the wolf by his tail. Hunters then come out of the woods and fire at the wolf but Peter stops them. They all bring the wolf to the zoo and at the end, the duck can be heard quacking in the wolf's stomach.
So I think Ray will be killed by Varga
Stussy Switcheroo
But why are a dogs cremains in a safety deposit box?
And David Thewlis is a bulemic?
Gloria is invisible to all electric eye sensors it seems like. Doors and faucets and hand dryers. is she a ghost?

Would you get the man a cream soda for shit's sake!

there you go again, using 3 syllable words for a 2 syllable problem
it's random whether you get killed by a bomb walking your dog (again with the quantum mechanics and randomness of fate)

sorry I got about 100 pounds of TP crammed in there
He pops faster from the back if I'm being honest but I think it's important to look each other in the eye when you're making a baby.
Happy trails

that's what they DO, son!

Maybe the bulimia (or whatever disorder he has) explains his meth mouth... but still how does a billionaire have such terrible teeth?

Enjoying the season, but all these clues seem to be falling into the chief's lap too easily.

I also was going to make a Sixth Sense observation (jokingly) but then I realized that since Gloria is a technophobe I thought maybe all the technology revolting was a reference to that.

Stuhlbarg's scene with the officer was very close to William H. Macy's interrogation in the original although his reaction to Varga's henchmen in the lobby was a new twist

Cool theory about Peter and the Wolf although you might want to specify more strongly that it's a direct spoiler guess because although you had the bars up... I thought you just were going to explain the story.

I literally just copied and pasted the plot of Peter and the Wolf from Google, because I was not that familiar with the story.
Now, whether that story will be directly echoed by the Fargo plot, remains to be seen. It may not be a spoiler at all but I did put the spoiler tag just in case. My speculation is not a spoiler because it's just a guess, I have no idea what happens. Usually speculation does not require spoiler warnings.

they did show each character as the narrator (Billy Bob Yay!) was describing what instrument each animal was portrayed by musically. So each Fargo character does have their equivalent character in Peter and the Wolf, but the plot may not be the same.
So far, at the end of last night's episode, the narrator says "Grandfather came out of the house" just as they are showing a body laying on the ground, but we don't see it's face, and the bassoon plays. Since Sy= the grandfather= the basson, I think that means Sy is dead. For talking to the cops.
Yeah, I wasn't upset about the spoiler... but your theory sounded pretty convincing so maybe I gave you too much credit too soon. Same with the new one 😊

Carrie Coon just has the worst luck with technology lately it seems.....

Thank you for this summary! This show is wonderful. I loved Billy Bob's narration. Those lines you quoted were so Fargo.

What is with this creme soda meme.
Is that a really popular drink in Minnesota or something? Because I almost never even see it in stores anymore, it's pretty obscure.
Thaddeus Mobeley also ordered a creme soda when he got to Los Angeles in the 70s.
