Who WAS John Galt? (A different actor than the last film, of course!)

Just saw this last night. My husband suggested that should be the real question as we embark on a third change of the entire cast!

Also, Rob Morrow as Hank Reardon should have had some fantastic, juicy scenes, some action and some angsty romance. Instead his part was diminished to a disembodied voice on the phone (which doesn't even sound like Morrow; maybe someone else did it), one still photo with an identifying caption, and a fleeting glimpse of him in the rescue scene at the end. He is, literally, running and I only knew it was him because I was looking for him.

Okay, so what happened? Who did Morrow tick off? Because they seem to have surgically removed every scene of his that it was possible to remove.

I really like Rob Morrow and I really like the Hank Rearden character, but that seemed like comical miscasting to me.

Remember, Rand cared a lot about appearances. All her supermen were not only smart, independent, and industrious, they were also athletic, physically perfect, and possessed of extreme self-confidence and impressive sexual prowess. Morrow is a good looking guy, but he's hardly chiseled out of granite the way you would expect. And he simply doesn't convey the "master of the world" air that the part requires, but then he'll always be Joel Fleischmann to me.

If the scenes with Morrow played out anything like the way they do in my head, I'm not at all surprised they cut them.

I agree that it wasn't a brilliant casting choice, in regard to physical appearance. But since they made that choice, they must have thought it would work...at some point in time. If it was not coming across well during shooting, they should have scrapped the footage and brought in someone else; that happens often enough.

Would love to know the whole story behind this, but I doubt we ever will.
