Horrible
It's not even worthy of Alan Smithee.
There was no storytelling at all in this, it was all preach, preach, preach.

One could easily compare these films to the "Left Behind" Christian films in that they do intend to put forth a message. So preachin' comes with the territory. I can say that the films do a lot less Shrug-Thumping than the book does.

The preaching comes straight from the book. Rand had a lot less respect for her readers than they had for her. She didn't trust them to pick up her rather obvious points from the events in the plot, and instead had her characters constantly deliver little (or not so little) sermons.
A good adaptation might have toned that down, but then a good adaptation might have changed trains to something relevant.
Just be grateful they shortened the speech. I went in assuming it would take up half the movie.
