Political Correctness Aside, It Is A Cool Movie

I agree, it was an interesting film and I enjoyed it.

I have to ask, why did the all female leads step on logic? Women are engaged into all sorts of professions and activities. If it's about male strength, the previous team that was sent there was all male military, and they didn't get out alive (well, most). So whatever perceived advantage men have in this situation didn't help them reach their objective. If something doesn't work, repeatedly, the logical thing to do is change the method.

Sometimes it's not about politics, but acknowledging that women also have an active role in the world. It didn't seem forced, and there wasn't any focus on their femaleness really. And in my personal experience, it reflected reality.

Not sure how all women makes it "politically correct" when there have been thousands of action/suspense/thriller/scifi movies made with all male casts. It's just a different group of people. Has nothing to do with right or wrong.

I would suggest that you really reflect on your thought process and perception if a predominantly female cast makes a movie political for you.

I don't mind the all female unit at all and it would make sense for them to try different methods but it's the interracial crap that puts me off. Other than that it was actually a great movie.

At first, I was afraid of exactly what the OP is hinting at with the political correctness. My friend even remarked "Interesting that all the main characters are women" and I just shrugged saying, "Hadn't noticed". And that "hadn't noticed" is when you know that the movie didn't go overboard with injecting contemporary politics. Yes, there were female leads, including one lesbian, but even as someone usually very sensitive to these things, it didn't bother me because it didn't take me out of the story. It didn't hit you over the head with it the way, say, Captain Marvel did.
