Does the shows name make any sense?

I mean it's ok as a comedy but the two main guys are either dating non stop or in the bar owners case he got the Cheers girl in 3 eps not 3 seasons.

I know the other 3 red shirts are losers but its not about them, and the sister.... hell she'd get banged in a gay bathhouse.

yeah, the name of the show is misleading. I thought it was goingo to be a show about a guy who is great at dating and gets many girls, showing the "tricks of the trade" to more unfortunate guys, like justin and company. but no, Justin has a crush and a couple of episodes later his crush becomes his girlfriend so I really don't know what this show is about

Did bill Lawrence want to change the name of cougar town because the name didn't match the theme after the first season?

reply

No, the point is the main characters were pretty much dateable and dating from the get-go.

I totally agree with you. I've watched this show since the beginning and I still can't figure it out. I still love it though!

From Danny's point of view, that probably describes his character pretty well, though his focus is more on Justin than any of the other main characters. Despite Justin being able to find romantic partners, like Nicki and Candace, Danny views a lot of what he does as things that would classify him as "undateable."

Pretty much all the characters on the show are actually quite dateable. If not an outright catch. It's an unfortunate title that will eventually limit the show if goes on for a few years. It's more fitting as the title for the pilot.

lol Season 2 and they are all pretty much dating or 1 night standing.....

reply

But they don't last, I think that's the point they were going for.
They're not really undatable so much as 'un-settle-down-able'
