Still funny, but the "band of the week" idea completely sucks.

In the hopes that the people who produce this show will see this, I submit that if we're only going to get 19 minutes a week on comedy, stop wasting 3-4 of those minutes on the bands. The strength of the show is the writing, the cast and the impromptu reactions to lines which only one side is given in advance, not the live bands which, best case, only 50% of your audience is going to like on any given week, and which are all easily located on YouTube if we actually care to hear them.

Doesn't Brent Morin sing enough? The band idea is horrible, and "A Rock and a Hard Place Walks into a Bar" is the first episode of the show that I didn't bother to keep on my DVR. The band sucked, and even if I had liked the band it was too much after all that singing from Grease anyway.

Yes, we get it, you can book bands. You proved that by subjecting us to Ed Sheeran. I'll bet anything fans would prefer to see more of the comedy and the celebrity cameos you're so good at than some band whose music they may or may not like. You're making a huge mistake with the band idea, and although I've been a faithful viewer from the beginning who has never missed an episode, another two or three episodes like "A Rock and a Hard Place Walks into a Bar" will probably cost you this viewer and many more.

All the interest you get from live episodes is being offset each week to at least half your viewers by the band idea, which is only marginally better than bathing with a live toaster. Stop it.

The band is mostly used for intro music and bumper's between scenes. What else are they supposed to do while changing scenes?

Also used at the end to pad out time. It's a live show. You don't know how its gonna go timing-wise so they have to keep the show light on time then use the band to fill the time at the end

The band can play in the background as the group thank everyone. They could try to read out loud the closing credits. Just a thought.

I'll grant you the "between scenes" point even though I'd prefer to see them do anything else, but the full 3-4 minutes at the end is annoying and unnecessary. With rehearsed improv done by professionals the act is far more likely to run OVER 3-4 minutes than under, especially with a crew like this which winds upadding time by laughing at each other's lines.

Their routine actually makes room for the band instead of relying on it as a safeguard (they're not going to invite the band and then not give time for the song at the end), and unless you can consistently come up with bands which the entire audience will like (no such thing), it's a bad idea which gives us less of what we tune in for.

Totally agree, the band idea totally sucks. Makes the show seem more suited to a loser crowd.

Which is why you need to script the show to run under and have something to then be able to pad out as necessary.

This week was a great example of that as on the east coast show the band started playing just before the credits. And on the west coast one the credits started running with the group hug. The band barely got 30 seconds at the end of either version.

Only show that got away with it was Ben Eltons the young ones in the early 80s...no hipster style crap bands only quality like Motorhead, amazulu, madness, squeeze, &dexys midnight runners to name a few...

Yeah how bout a Dave Grohl open/close, not another coffee hipster band.
I can only assume that it's based on budget and popularity, and if this show manages to take off and continue to do well , they will eventually start
getting big names , I just hope it's more Rock and not solo Pop

I like the band idea. The problem is not all acts fit. Saint Motel - great pick. Meghan Trainor - a big no. Not everybody's music works.
