Black guy, doesn't seem to fit the odd crew, is he gay or what and was he the best cast black dude they could find?

shareRon Funches is a very funny stand-up comedian. Well, at least I think so. This show just doesn't use him well. This show really doesn't do anything well. It's a cheap, cookie-cutter show. Pretty lame IMO.

shareYou're being racist...I'm not sure that you understand what that word means. No one has mentioned hating him *because* he is black... which would be racist. They are saying that he appears to fill a stereo-typical role that studios feel the need to "round-out" casts so they have better universal appeal. This is done usually very poorly. The comments here seem to reflect that.
FTR, they also said he appears to be gay... does that make them gay-cist, too?
He's funny but he's really just there as the token black dude. Writers aren't even trying.
Notice how whenever Dani distributes advices - apart from the pilot - he always skips S? And how he's never interacting with women to flirt with?
He's just there for the one-liners and as a plot device (Detroit thing was just in order for the other guy to have something to solve).
Don't like how it took less than 5 mnutes for the show to start cracking race jokes ("hope no black guys are in the fight" etc). Not funny.
Seriously writers, make some freaking effort. It's really not that hard.
Who ISN'T a token on this show? You've got your gay guy, your obnoxious nerd, your Italian stallion, your WASPY metrosexual, your typical bimbo-ish blonde, etc. All that's missing is an Asian person.
